Dr. Adeel Iqbal is board certified in Internal Medicine and has been practicing medicine in Patchogue, Suffolk County since 2013. Dr. Iqbal believes that prevention is the best medicine and advocates for his patients to live active and healthy lives. He is a clinical instructor for medical residents and students in various clinical programs.

Rapid Test

Rapid Test (also referred to as antigen test). This test detects protein fragments specific to the Coronavirus. Turnaround time for results is immediate and results can be reported within 15 minutes.

PCR Test

PCR testing is considered the “gold standard” in COVID-19 detection. This test detects RNA (or genetic material) that is specific to the virus and can detect the virus within days of infection,

even for those who have no symptoms. Turnaround time for results is generally within 2 business days, depending on demand.

Antibody Testing

Covid-19 Antibody Testing is helpful for those who have recently recovered from COVID-19 or those who believe that they have already had COVID-19 but were asymptomatic or werenot tested at that time.

The test will determine if you have developed antibodies against the virus. The presence of antibodies indicates that you were likely infected with COVID-19 at some time in the past.

My primary goal as a board certified Internal Medicine physician that serves as a Primary Care Provider is to improve the health and wellness of each and everyone of my patients. Additionally, for my patients with diagnosed conditions or illnesses, my goal is to effectively manage and treat their current health care problems along with preventing any possible new ailments. I enjoy taking the time to get to know each one of my patients as I celebrate the privilege to care for people. In my medical practice, patients will benefit from an entire healthcare team that is committed to taking care of them.

I have medical privileges at Long Island Community Hospital and visit my patients there when they are admitted. With over 15 years practicing in the community, I have strong relationships with many specialists in the community to help my patients that need specialized medical care.
